REMOTENESS
“Bud”
is being remote and perishing. Sufis consider and understand
it as the cease of enlightenment in respect of source and
being a far away from Allah; consequently as an abandonment
and deprivation unless there is a special help.
As there are degrees
of nearness according to common believers, saints, friends
of Allah ,the righteous people and the ones who comes near
to Him; bu’d -remoteness- has also degrees and stages
inside of it one on another ; Satan occupies the point of
absolute perishing of these stages.
It’s a different
matter the existence of nearness and remoteness as an endowment
or a deprivation, being them felt and known is a different
thing. Sometimes the greatest endowment is not to have felt
the endowment and, someone who is near at the highest degree
doesn’t know his nearness. Sometimes deceit becomes
full and the darkness of remoteness can not be felt. Sometimes
the state of unconsciousness-intoxication- becomes dominant
and nearness and remoteness can not be distinguished. So
in such people the longing of nearness and anxiety of remoteness
are not seen.
The words of “
Jami do not fall into anxiety because essentially there
is no remoteness and nearness, no meeting and no separation”
express the thoughts of those independent and intoxicated-with
joy- souls.
The real shiver and
deprivation of remoteness is admitted; there are some souls
that they tremble against the breezes of awe of the nearness
and they suppose themselves in the violence of distress
and destroy, “ Kurb-i sultan atesh-i sûzan
buved” might have been said because of this
and in this meaning. In spite of all , if nearness is to
be compared to the hills of the paradise which are open
to the breezes of divine blast and familiarity then about
remoteness-buud- it is suitable to say deprivation and Gayya
pit of abandonment.
