REMEMBERRING DEATH

The truth of the death and the kinds of spiritual torments:

One should know that the levels of nine essentials that we mentioned are not on the same degree. On the contrary some of them are object independently. For instance the Love for Allah and showing consent to destiny. They are the highest of all degrees. Some of them are wished for others. Like repentance, pious asceticism, fear from Allah and patience.

Because repentance is to be directed towards the way that is close to Allah by returning from a distant way. Ascestism is to leave the preoccupations that prevent one becoming nearer to Allah. The fear of Allah is a whip that leads to abandon those preoccupations. Patience is the struggle against the desires that prevent from the way which leads the person to Allah. All of them are not wished for themselves. Perhaps the demanded thing is nearness to Allah and this is possible with spiritual knowledge and affection. Because they are demanded in themselves, but not with other things. This is only possible with breaking through and throws the love for anybody other than Allah. Therefore there is a need for the fear of Allah, patience and asceticism.

One of the important things in which there is benefit for man is to remember and mention the death. So we mentioned the death here. Again because there are great uses of it, canonical law declared the greatness of the merit acquired by mentioning the death. Since the desire for this world disappears with the mention of the death and the interest of the heart from this world is ended. Allah The Most High declared:

“Wherever ye are death will find you out even if ye are in towers built up strong and high!" If some good befalls them they say "This is from Allah"; but if evil they say "this is from thee" (O Prophet). "Say: "All things are from Allah. But what hath come to these people that they fail to understand a single fact?”

The Apostle of Allah-May Allah commend and salute him declared:

“Remember the death frequently of which mention denigrates the pleasures”

“Whoever does not like to meet Allah, Allah doesn't like to meet him either.”

Hadrat Aisha-May Allah be well pleased with her- said to The Apostle of Allah-May Allah commend and salute him-:

-O The Apostle of Allah! In the day of last judgment will anyone be arose from death together with and equal to martyred?

 The Apostle of Allah declared:

-Yes, someone who mentions the death for twenty times night and day

The Apostle of Allah-May Allah commend and salute him- stopped in passing by a meeting. Laughter had filled the meeting. The Apostle of Allah who saw this said:

-Confuse your meeting by the mention of the thing that removes pleasures.

 -What is that? They asked.

“The death” said the Apostle of Allah.

Again Hadrat Prophet -May Allah commend and salute him- declared:

“If animals had known the things that you know about the death you would not have eaten fat meat comes from them.”

“The death is enough as an adviser”

“I leave you two advisers one of them is speaking and one of them is silent. The speaking one is The Noble Quran. The silent one is the death.”

People were talking about a man by praising him in the presence of Our Prophet-May Allah commend and salute him-. Then The Apostle of Allah asked the people who was praised:

“How is the mention of the death of that friend of you”.

 They said:

“We never heard that his mention of the death”

 The Apostle of Allah declared:

“Your friend is not as much you praised”

  A person from Ansar asked:

“O The Apostle of Allah, who is the most intelligent and munificent of all people?”

 Hadrat Prophet said:

-The ones who mention the death much and who are most prepared for it. They are the very selves of intelligent people who have attained the ease of the world and the marvel of the next world.
