GUIDANCE

In Arabic, the word “delalet” means showing the way to someone who is in doubts, does not know and asks the way; to lead people towards good deeds.

A person who shows the way and the things that proves a claim are named as “ delil/proof”.

The word delalet -guidance- and its derivatives are mentioned in the Noble Quran in eight places, all of them are used in their literal sense.

Someone who goes a way that he does not know without a guide or leader faces many difficulties until he reaches the point. Even he may encounter with some dangers.

The savants of Ethics recommends people to be careful about choosing a guide-delil-, -murshid-spiritual teacher and says “it is not proper to follow the guidance of a person whose state, reputation, belief and mind is not in the direction of Allah’s commands.”. If his words, behaviors and the attitude of his followers are opposite the essentials of religion, one even shouldn’t meet with such people.

Because the deeds which are contrary to religious principles that are a sum of the orders and prohibitions of Allah; are originated from carnal mind-nefs-. The words comes from one’s “nefs” are in the direction of useless desires, so they are devilish.
