FRUGALITY

It is being able to protect wealth, manage it and making expenditure moderately.

This is a praised habit when it is between prodigality and stinginess. When it reaches to excess in one direction and in the other, it would be either wasteful expenditure or stinginess then it will turn to be a bad habit. One should be careful about this delicate point and when he realizes that his habit of spending would turn to be one of them he should try to correct it.

Frugality is not avoiding help to relatives and to people in need in order to collect money, or it is not to suffer trouble while one has money as if he has not, or causing his family and children to live in a difficult situation and being in a low livelihood among peers.

The real frugality is to consume properly the favors, money and wealth that Allah has given to him, giving his family and children to eat and drink, dress them and also to help poor people, giving thanks to Allah The Most High and praising him, besides trying to collect money as a measure for not to be in trouble in the future. On the contrary to collect all money or prodigality are not good behaviors.

Thus, frugality is the way of proper spending which was praised by old people as a wise behavior. It is a tested attitude that a small amount of money which is spent properly becomes more useful than more money which is thrown a way.
