FAITHFULNESS

Not to forget the goodness that was experienced, to return people who did kindness similarly or with more beautiful of it. A person who acts this way is known as loyal or faithful.

The opposite of loyalty which is one of the good habits that a Muslim should have is ingratitude and it is not to appreciate goodness or returning it with badness. Allah-May His Glory be exalted- likes doing people kindness to each other. When the goodness continues mutually and the ones who do kindness are not returned with badness from the second person and experience goodness again this will be a good sample for others and strengthen the feelings of peace and trust in society. The greatest loyalty is knowing of one's Creator, performing the duty of being a born servant and appreciates the favors that Allah has given us. The worst of ingratitude is the born servant's denial of his Lord and not to recognize His Greatness. By performing worship to Allah The Most High man becomes faithful to his word that he gave in the day of creation of man and also he should be loyal towards the people who did goodness to him. In a society in which the individuals have no loyalty among them, trust and reliance is upset, and social disintegration begins. . Because faithfulness will provide the contuniation of friendship, it makes social solidarity stronger. As for among people, society and state should act faithful towards people who rendered service to them and appreciate their value.

The most beautiful samples of faithfulness again were seen in the life of Hadrat Muhammad-May Allah commend and salute him-. Throughout his lifetime, The Prophet did not forget his nurse Ummü Eymen who had suckled him for one week, his foster mother Halime who looked after him for years although it was in return of payment, his foster sister Sheyma, the wife of Abu Talib, Fatima with whom he passed his childhood, he looked after with them in all occasions and helped. He always mentioned with goodness Negus, Emperor of Abyssinia who received the believers escaped from the cruelty of Meccan polytheists, The Prophet prayed for him when he died, after years when his son came to Medina , he serviced him in person as out of respect to his father.

Loyalty to an agreement promises made before is one of the most important principle of Islamic ethics. The development of individual and social life depends on mutual relations and relations are dependent on various agreement and promises. Without them the development of social and economic life is not possible. Asking others to confirm an agreement is a acquired right and performing it is an accepted duty. Those who did not keep the promise that they gave means do not perform the right of the other party and their own duty. Because of that not to keep the promises was accepted as one of the three characteristics of hypocrisy in religion and Muslim are warned to be cautious in this matter.
