FATIGUE

Fatigue – eza- is described as the thing which cause anxiety and pain, something causes physical harm. This harm may be related to both present and the next world. This word –eza- and its derivatives are mentioned twenty-four times Quran.

First physical and bodily distress, pain and their cause is understood. For example women’s menstruation is a fatigue, “eza” (Chapter Bakara 2/222). Here it is thought that something cause disgust. It is considered that if the blood thrown out in menstruation remains in this will harm to the body. So it’s named as fatigue “eza”

In another verse, the trouble which caused by rain ( Chapter Nisa, 4/16), punishment of adulterers (Chapter Nisa, 4/16 ) Disturbance of women by bad intended men ( El-Ahzab 33/59 ) are also expressed by the word “ eza” and it’s derivatives. Besides mental and psychological anxiety, pain, sadness, being hurt and their causes are expressed by the word “eza”. In the verse which states people of the Book ( Jews and Christians ) can not do any harm to Muslims other than “eza” ( Chapter Al-Imran, 3/111) is understood by commentators as lie, distortion, slander, reproach and similar attacks in words.

The word “eza” is also mentioned frequently in hadiths (Prophet’s sayings). On the streets, on the ways, in front of the houses the things that cause trouble for people and which makes difficult passing by are defines as “eza”. It is recommended that trees, thorny branches, stones or garbage, sweepings, dirt that cause disgust are not thrown to public places, and these places should be cleared from these objects.

While Hazreth Ali is married to Prophet’s daughter Hazreth Fatima, Prophet definitely objected to the attempts to marry Ali to a second wife and said: “ Because Fatima ( r.a ) is a piece of mine, who worry her also worry me who punishes her also punishes me.” ( Buhari Nikah 109, Muslim Fezailussahabe 93/94 )

In hadiths words and deeds which cause physical or psychological harm for people, which hurts them, cause difficulties or worry them in public places, which ruins family relations, neighborhood and friendship, cause difficulty for weak, ill and disabled people are always described as “ eza”
