FALSEHOOD

Literally falsehood means useless, not true and not right, inconstant, invalid and non existent. It is contraryr to truth. Flasehood is used for things which were acted but not valid. For example, if someone gets married to tow sisters at the same time, it is actual but it is false. The Noble Quran uses “falsehood” in several meanings. For example falsehood is a name of a curtain which veils the truth. “Ye People of the Book! Why do ye clothe truth with falsehood and conceal the truth while ye have knowledge?”(1)

Falsehood is the false and invalid beliefs that are contrary to the truth which comes from Allah.

“What! do they say "He has forged a falsehood against Allah"? But if Allah willed He could seal up thy heart. And Allah blots out Vanity and proves the Truth by His Words. For He knows well the secrets of all hearts.” (2)
In a verse, falsehood means evidence which does not rely on any true information.

“But (there were people) before them who denied (the Signs) the People of Noah and the confederates (of Evil) after them; and every People plotted against their prophet to seize him and disputed by means of vanities therewith to condemn the truth; but it was I that seized them! And how (terrible) was My Requital!” (3)

In another verse, falsehood is used in the meaning of useless thing, aimless and waste work. “Men who celebrate the praises of Allah standing sitting and lying down on their sides and contemplate the (wonders of) creation in the heavens and the earth (with the thought): "Our Lord! not for naught hast thou created (all) this! Glory to thee! give us salvation from the penalty of the fire.” (4)
The Noble Quran describes the idols and gods which some part of people believe by leaving the belief in Allah, as falsehood. “That is because Allah is the (only) Reality and because whatever else they invoke besides Him is Falsehood; and because Allah He is the Most High Most Great.” (5) They are invalid, null and void and baseless.

The things which do not rely on a true reason and cause which are cruel and injust; are also falsehood. The Noble Quran states :“O ye who believe! there are indeed many among the priests and anchorites who in false hood devour the substance of men and hinder (them) from the way of Allah. And there are those who bury gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah: announce unto them a most grievous penalty.” (6) A group of rabbis (Jewish religious men) and ministers spending of the property of people injustly were described by this statement.

FALSEHOOD AS THE OPPOSITE OF TRUTH

The terms of Truth and Falsehood are used to qualify Islam and other religions. As a matter of fact, muslim historians and authors considered the religions under two topics : true religions and false religions.

True religions are called “milel/nations” and other false religions are called “nihal/branches”

Quran uses Truth for both Allah and His religion Islam; Since, Allah is the Absolute reality, the Absolute existence, the One whose existence does not change and the Eternal One. Thus, His religion Islam, is true, has basis, real and constant. (1)

 Falsehood is null and void, invalid and incostant. The verse below states openly the Truth and Falsehood;

“He sends down water from the skies and the channels flow each according to its measure: but the torrent bears away the foam that mounts up to the surface. Even so from that (ore) which they heat in the fire to make ornaments or utensils therewith there is a scum likewise. Thus doth Allah (by parables) show forth Truth and Vanity: for the scum disappears like froth cast out; while that which is for the good of mankind remains on the earth. Thus doth Allah set forth parables.” (2)

Allah is the Absolute God. Allah exists with His own existency and the Creator of everything. Everything is going to die and only the existence of Allah is going to last. Thus, everything under Allah’s rule is constant by Allah’s will. In this sense, those are vain; namely they are not absolute realities and creatures do not have validity by themselves. The True One, Allah, created the Earth and the skies.

Allah made these and all other creatures as evidences and reflections of His existence. The human being observes all these, conceives by foresight and submits himself to Islam. Moreover, our God, sent the Prophet
Muhammed (p.b.u.h.) as true Messenger. (3) Also sent a true Book with Him.

Despite all these, some people by leaving the constant, firm and true belief, obeys falsehood, which is like foam that never has any value and permanency. However, the foam is deemed to disappear, and has no worth.

----------------------------------

 The Noble Qur’an states :

“And say: "Truth has (now) arrived and Falsehood perished: for Falsehood is (by its nature) bound to perish." (1)

“Nay We hurl the Truth against falsehood and it knocks out its brain and behold falsehood doth perish! Ah! woe be to you for the (false) things ye ascribe (to Us).” (2)

As seen, falsehood is rootless and weak. It is deemed to disappear and to be eradicated. It can not exist against the Truth. Is it possible to hold for the falsehood which is as foam on water against the Truth which is as iron?

Sometimes in world life, ‘falsehood’ seems overwhleming to “Truth”. People suppose so. Or looking to the defeat of Muslims some others consider this as the victory of falsehood. However, it does not reflect the reality. Muslims are also human beings, they have got falses and deficiencies. They might not undertake their duties and act as it should be. Their weakness and falses do not mean the weakness and dishonor of the Truth. Allah’s name and Islam are great even any Muslim individual does not remain on the Earth.

Allah wants to reinforce and establish the Truth and invalidate and destroy the falsehood even though guilty and sinful ones do not want. (3)

Certainly the ones who believe in the baseless and false vain, namely to the beliefs which are invalid for Allah, are going to loose. (4) The unbelievers who ignore Allah believe in falsehood as a religion. (5) This is a loss for them. The ones worshipping to falsehood instead of Allah are extremely on a wrong way which is useless, weak, poor and unable to give help and to avoid any damage. Those ones’ religion is catasrophic and works that has done by the belivers of falsehood are also vain.(6) The ones who fell into ignorance fight against the call of the true Messenger who is sent for them. They try to invalidate the Truth. But, their endeavors are futile. (7)

Falsehood is the common name of the religions that was invented in conformity with the gods also invented by some unbelievers. All beliefs and worships which are invalid, null and void, baseless and false before Allah, are totally false.

“Say: "The Truth has arrived and Falsehood neither creates anything new nor restores anything.”(1)
Today all beliefs, world visions, life perceptions, social orders, ideoligies that are followed on contrary to Islam are invalid, null and void before Allah.

“We did aforetime send apostles before thee: of them there are some whose story We have related to thee and some whose story We have not related to thee. It was not (possible) for any apostle to bring a Sign except by the leave of Allah: but when the Command of Allah issued the matter was decided in truth and justice and there perished there and then those who stood on Falsehoods.” (2)
