EVIL WORD

 Saying evil words and to swear at others is one of the bad habits. If these kinds of words are lies it is prohibited and sinful. Even when it is not lie, it is wicked in respect of reason and prohibited in religion, who says it is sinner. The reason is, these kinds of speeches are wicked and vulgar in their character. It is declared in a hadith: “Be cautious about evil words. Certainly Allah The Most High dislikes these words.” Again Our Prophet said a true believer doesn’t say bad words.

 It is communicated that a few bad intended Jewish -May Allah’s curse be on them- came to Rasulullah Muhammed and said “Essamü aleyk” instead of “Esselamü Aleyk” as if they are saluting him. But indeed the word “sam” meant -death in their language. They meant “death with you” .The Apostle of Allah said: “ Aleyküm” -with you” . When Our Prophet’s wife, Hazreth Aishe couldn’t be patient and replied them in evil words Apostle of Allah declared “ The thing you need is to be calm” Aishe said: “O Rasulallah haven’t you heard what they said? He said “I did, but I refused by saying “Aleyküm” - with you. Also he declared: “There is no doubt that Allah has gentleness and he likes the ones who act gently in every way.”

 For the person who has good morals and wisdom and for the right minded believer this hadith is enough to give up bad words and to embellish his speech.

 It is narrated that Ibrahim, the son of Mugire said: “Who says evil words is will be in the shape of dog in the Resurrection Day.”
There is no need to think long time to understand this. Because a person will be in the shape of the animal of which he acquired the bad characteristics and bad morals of it in the world life. Because speaking the evil words is not a habit proper for human being. So it’s probable that such people will be in the shape of an animal.

 Imam Gazali said: (May Allah bless his soul)

 The excess of indecency is to mention and express the evil deeds explicitly. For example to mention sex and sexual organs openly and in evil words, this is spread among mischief makers and honest people avoid it. So not to keep these word as secret and use them openly is indecency.



 The reason of the mention of sex in the Noble Quran in different words like “‘ mes, lems, duhul , sohbet’ is to observe this modesty.

 These kinds of words are usually spoken in indecent places. Some words are wicked than others’. Even the slightest of them are disgusting. Severe of them are prohibited by religion. Among the meetings in which women present they are never mentioned in name only by hint.
The reason of this indecency is either to give pain others or to be mixed up with vulgarity and to get used one’s tongue to indecent words with sins.
The remedy of it: To consider its wickedness and remind the hadith and knowledge about this bad habit. And trying to keep the tongue away from these evil words.
